HS Music - About Me

My name is Heather Sherman. I teach Violin, Viola, and beginner Piano, while dabbling in a few other string instruments as well. I believe that music is a wonderful gift that God has given to us, and I want to allow others to be able to share that gift with their friends and family. I think that no matter how old you are, or regardless of if you have any musical background or not, you can still learn to play an instrument, and sing praises to the Lord. I currently teach lessons in Franklin, TN.

I am a graduate from Belmont University with a degree in Music Performance and Composition. I have a beautiful family with my husband and our two precious little boys. I love to use the gifts God has given me to serve in my church through the choir and nursery.

Outside of my career, I host a YouTube channel called God's Creation Studios, where we create music, games, challenges, and even film, all for the purpose of glorifying the one who created us. Through this channel, I aim to bring people together to create videos that glorify the Lord. I usually invite anyone interested to participate in the making of these videos, so if you are interested, keep an eye out for announcements in the Community Tab on the channel page.

I am offering lessons for a variety of instruments. My studies throughout high school and college have made me well rounded in music theory, allowing me to learn many different instrments. At Belmont, I actively studied Violin, Viola, and Piano pedagogy, so those are the instruments I have the most training to teach.

Violin/Viola: I can teach lessons for Violin and Viola all the way up to the professional level.

Piano/Voice: My pedagogy training is more limited. However, I have studied both for many years and can instruct up through intermediate level.

Other instruments: These instruments I have a general knowledge of and can teach beginners up to intermidiate level depending on the instrument. The instruments I am offering lessons for are Guitar, Ukulele, Mandolin, and Recorder.

Mommy and Me Class: My first experience with music was a program called Kindermusik. I am teaching my own version of this class for littles 5 and under. This class helps promote learning in your little one through music and movement.

Group Classes: I am offering a joint class once a month for students to listen and learn from each other. This class will also offer the opportunity to play together with other students.
